How do you calculate the area of a triangle when you only know the three sides?
You can use Heron's formula. First, calculate the semi-perimeter: s = (a + b + c) / 2. Then the area is A = √(s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)). For example, if the sides are 3, 4, and 5: s = 6, A = √(6 × 3 × 2 × 1) = √36 = 6 square units.

Why does ice float on water? Shouldn't solids be heavier than liquids?
Water is special. When it freezes, the molecules form a crystal structure with more space between them. This makes ice less dense than liquid water (917 kg/m³ vs 1000 kg/m³). That's why ice floats. Most other substances are denser in solid form.

What is the difference between mitosis and meiosis?
Mitosis produces 2 identical daughter cells (diploid) for growth and repair. Meiosis produces 4 genetically unique cells (haploid) for reproduction. Mitosis has 1 division, meiosis has 2. Crossing over only happens in meiosis, creating genetic diversity.
